Okay, so I’m not the political type. However, I believe our world is shrinking and that shrinkage is not caused by global warming. Our small world is the result of globalization. Consider, that when you go through the drive-thru at some McDonald’s, your order is taken by someone in India, but the order is filled locally. Communication is that fast. And we’re all aware of how a blip in the economy of one nation affects many others.

What does this have to do with my apoliticalism? One of my Facebook friends posted a link to an article published in The Atlantic in the September 2004 issue. My friend is a graduate student at Georgetown University and the article was recommended by one of his professors.

The author of the article bought two computers previously used by high-ranking members of Al-Qaeda. With the help of translators, he deciphered the communications that were on the hard drive. It’s interesting reading for insights on live in Afghanistan prior to 9/11.
